Newton Ross

Chief Executive Officer

Newton Ross serves as the Keais Records Retrieval Chief Executive Officer.

He was recruited in 2008 to join the leadership in redesigning the long-term strategy and improving operational efficiencies. Under his operational oversight, he helped transform Keais from a leading regional records company, to a nationwide records retrieval organization recognized for efficiency, customer care, and innovation.

Newton is responsible for enabling operational excellence across the company and building capabilities for Keais’ future growth. As the leader of thedocument preparation, retrieval center, production services and information technology teams, Newton helps to enable Keais’ vision, strategy, and innovation by managing prioritization, decision ownership, effective resource alignment, measurement, and accountability across the company.
Prior to joining Keais, Mr. Ross spent eight years with Silver Eagle Distributors in the company’s management training program. While at Silver Eagle, Newton’s skills were deployed in all aspects of the company including national sales, marketing and operational management.
Newton was born and raised in Houston, TX. He earned his undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University in 2000.

Steve Schumacher

President

As President of Keais, Steve Schumacher brings more than 22 years of sales and executive management experience to Keais, expanding and scaling emerging companies.

Since joining Keais in 2006, Steve has played a key role in the overall vision and mission of the company. By creating cost-saving programs and partnerships with some of the largest insurance carriers nationwide, he has steadily grown the Keais into one of the largest records retrieval companies in the United States.

His team is responsible for positioning Keais’ growth strategy, cultivating opportunities in new and existing customer markets and growing Keais’ services nationally, as Keais establishes itself as the No. 1 records retrieval company in the US.

Steve is also involved in all operational and technology enhancements as the voice of the client.

Steve spent fourteen years at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, where he led numerous successful regional and district turnarounds. He developed strategy for all facets of the business: sales, marketing, training, recruiting and operational improvements. He was responsible for executing all strategies to exceed net profit, sales growth, employee retention and client satisfaction metrics. Steve drove overall P&L performance of 26 locations in 2 states, while reporting directly to the General Manager.

Steve graduated from Marquette University with a BS in Economics and received his MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

Ramsey Evans

Chairman of the Board & CFO

Ramsey Evans is the Chairman of the Board & Chief Financial Officer for Keais Records Retrieval. He began his executive career at Keais in 1999. He served as CFO for six years prior to stepping into the role as CEO. During his tenure, he helped build Keais into one of the largest medical records retrieval and analysis companies in the nation.

In 2009, Ramsey left the day-to-day operations of Keais to join the executive leadership of Prognosis Health Information Systems, an electronic medical record (EMR) company serving the rural and community hospital markets. He was a founder and board member of Prognosis before being appointed as its president and chief executive officer. While at Prognosis, he successfully led a venture raise and grew the company into nationally acclaimed EMR vendor. In 2012, Ramsey received an “EHR Game Changers Award” from Health Data Management magazine. The recognition honors individuals who have been true game changers in the design, advocacy, deployment and development of electronic health records technology.

In 2013, Ramsey returned to Keais to serve as Chairman of the Board and Chief Financial Officer. He provides executive oversight and strategic leadership to direct Keais into the next generation of record retrieval and analytics.

Ramsey received his degree in finance from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and his MBA from the Bauer School of Business at the University of Houston.

Melanie Pita

EVP, Product Development

Melanie Pita is the Executive Vice President of Product Development for Keais Records Retrieval. After graduating from Drake Law School, she spent more than a decade working as a medical malpractice trial attorney in some of the most challenging venues defending physician groups, hospitals, and insurance clients throughout Texas.

After leaving the law firm practice, she expanded her insurance, coverage and risk reduction experience while working for a well known TPA and helped to start an electronic medical records company serving the rural and community hospital markets.

As the EVP of Product Development, Pita heads-up Keais’ ongoing product development and product marketing projects. She is responsible for the planning and execution of overall marketing strategies, and related activities. She works to ensure that new and existing products meet organizational goals and expectations. Melanie also leads designing and developing product profiles, competitive analysis, presentations, demos, white papers, and product updates.

Melanie grew-up in Indiana and obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. She is married with two children. When she isn’t chasing after kids, you can find her training for her next half-marathon (the more exotic the location the better).

Robert Sanford

VP, Technology

As the Vice President of Technology Robert Sanford uses his 25+ years of experience in software development to guide Keais as a technology driven services company.

Robert has a breadth of experience in commercial software, consulting, and in-house software development across diverse industries such as human resources, private ATM networks, process management, and income tax. He has both hands-on and management experience delivering desktop software, accounting and CRM integration, SaaS applications, and DevOps with a focus on delivering stable, quality, secure software that meets customer needs.

Robert graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in Computer Science, is married to his college sweetheart, and has two kids. He and his son are currently pursuing SCUBA certification with the goal of swimming with sea turtles, manta rays, and sea horses.

Lori Neal

Director of Human Resources

Lori Neal is the Director of Human Resources for Keais Records Retrieval.

Lori has 15 years of experience encompassing all facets of Human Resources including Employee Relations, Compliance, Recruiting and Benefits & Compensation. Lori is responsible for implementing human resource management strategies to align with the strategic agenda of the business. She is also heavily focused on employee relations and engagement so that Keais maintains a high performing and motivated workforce. Prior to Keais, Lori’s Human Resources experience was in the Hospitality and Oil & Gas Service industries.

Lori is a native Houstonian and earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston. In her downtime, Lori enjoys traveling and exploring the world with her husband and 10 year old son.
